We built three of the SAM suits with a 1000ft capability. They were substantially smaller and lighter than the JIMs and they were made completely of aluminum. 

In addition to the JIM and SAMs, we built two 2000 ft rated suits for Oceaneering ( sometimes called JAM). These suits were similar to the SAMs except that the torsos were made of glass reinforced plastic by Slingsby Engineering. The last suit built at UMEL was a two thousand foot experimental suit for the US Navy. The design was based on the JIM series, only with a torso made of carbon fiber. The carbon fiber was not successful and the project was eventually shelved.
